Re: Advice concernint grooming

Hi June, we get Tbone (biscon) groomed with the woman on the TV advert for vis-t-aprint!. He gets a proper cut every 8-10 weeks, but every 4-5 weeks he just gets a shampoo. Like your Beau Tbone has never been that keen on being brushed, and thats not for the want of trying, I can only assume it's be...

Re: GREENHOUSE BASE HEATING

Hi FR, personally I would use the polystyrene instead of the bottles, also it would depend on the area that needs covering, 2-3 or more sq/mtrs would require quite a few bottles!..

Re: HAVING A WOODBURNER?

Wood burner everytime , great source of cosy heat, we never have the heating on upstairs as the burner heats the whole house, Jan only uses the radiators during winter months to help dry clothes! We get our logs from the owner or our shooting ground, we usually help cut, split and stack the trees/lo...

Re: GREENHOUSE BASE HEATING

You could also lay expanded polystyrene sheets, if you are making the base from scratch, about £5-£10 a sheet depending on thickness, like the idea of the bottles though! )t'

Re: Under-floor insulation

Hi FR, I laid the insulation under the concrete, just a thought!, have you considered putting down concrete joists!, whereas you can lay thermal block in between them, then cover with marine ply or the likes!..take a look below if it helps. )t'

Re: Under-floor insulation

Hi FR, our house is roughly the same age as yours approx 1850, originally a Victorian two up two down, built with soft red brick with lime mortar, 9" solid walls with a slate damp course!. The front and back rooms had wooden joists and floorboards, which were part rotten, and damp rising up the...

Re: Beyond a joke.

Hi Vicki, see if any of your family or neighbours/friends have some old fashioned creosote in their garage or sheds, this will kill off all mites and their eggs , providing you can get some!. Unfortunately the general public can't buy proper creosote no more!, it's only sold to trade, however, if yo...
