Storing onionsStoring onionsI've had a really good crop of onions this year, having planted twice as many as usual. What's the best way to store them through the winter?
Let them dry out for a few days until the skins go papery. I spread mine out on a rack in the sunshine (hahahahaha) for a while. Then either plait them or put them in net bags before hanging them up in a cool, dry place. Remove any damaged ones first and use them up.
Alternatively, chop the lot, sautee for a few mins, bag and freeze. There's no cure for stupidity.

If you look at the Japanese sets thread, the advice was really good. |
