Grape question, help pleaseGrape question, help pleaseI have been given enough home grown grapes to make a gallon of country wine, but unfortunately they were picked far to early and are rock hard!
If I leave them on a windowsill or somewhere warm, will they ripen like tomatoes? Helen xx

Re: Grape question, help pleaseI think so
Grapes seem to go off and rot quickly when you dont want them to...... so i would have thought so Good luck xx Happy to have shown Titchy Clucker a little corner of France

Re: Grape question, help pleaseNot sure Helen. If ripened on the window sill they may not be as sweet as when ripening on the vine. Mine are still on the vine and just turning black but not very sweet yet.
As you have got the grapes you have nothing to lose. Just keep your eye on them as they can go mouldy quickly once ripe. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Grape question, help pleaseI know nothing about the ripening of grapes but will happily come down and help you test the wine once made

What a shame. These grapes have been growing all summer and have just been picked to early Helen xx

Wish me luck! Helen xx
