Copper and Magnets for ArthritisCopper and Magnets for ArthritisThere was an article in this weeks Daily Mail about some man who claims to have suffered with really bad arthritis in his knees and after using some copper insoles in his shoes he is now pretty much cured. I'm very sceptical of things like this, but OH ordered himself a pair of them, then he ordered a magnetic bracelet and then just so Mishka doesn't feel left out he ordered a magnetic collar for her. Will be interesting to see if any of them work

If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning Re: Copper and Magnets for ArthritisWill be really interested to see what happens!
Only thing is, using both copper insoles and magnets, he won't know which has helped if he gats a result... Re: Copper and Magnets for ArthritisI think he's gone a bit overboard with buying two things so yes it will be hard to know if he feels any better which item has helped. I am hoping the collar might help Mishka as she is very bad with her back legs but we are just assuming it's arthritis, could be something else. However if she suddenly starts running up the stairs I will know it's not a placebo effect as she won't know she has the magnetic collar on.
OH also has a friend at work who suffers with the most awful back pain and has spent years having various treatments and not found any relief. He bought one of those contraptions where you hang upside down like a bat and he claims it's cured him. OH's boss at work also has the same contraption in the office and reckons it's helped his back a lot too. I guess at times like that you try anything Lyn

Re: Copper and Magnets for ArthritisI've looked into the copper/arthritis debate extensively, being an arthritis sufferer myself. From what I've found, copper has no effect, only a placebo.
One study I read suggested that too much copper in your body can be harmful for arthritis sufferers. There's a couple of studies out there that suggest gold can help, but my wedding ring doesn't help with joint pain in my left hand. Some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue.
