Valentines present.
Valentines present.Hi , Not sure where to put this topic .
Here will do . What has the best present offered to a loved one ever been declined . I try buying all sorts of things and not much wanted . This year I tried jewellery again and SHMBO wanted something different but will not get it . Aquamarine pendant . I tried over the last years on 12 days of valentines day . (Like xmas song , 12 days of Xmas . Drove her up the wall . Things like choc cream eggs to flowers and fruit leading up to it . Did not take off at all . A case of what do you give someone who is dare I say old and has everything . Last one I even put a ribbon round my waist . That did not work either . I thought the best present ever …… So happens NOT. (Cost a lot of ribbon a good few yards....) Bob Any good stories make me laugh or cry (will not take much )
Re: Valentines present.Oh dear, I can't offer any advice except to save your money. The best pressie I had as an oldie was to have beautiful flowers delivered before going out for a surprise meal. I was told about the meal beforehand and so that I could get ready. I was amazed at the trouble he had gone to when making all the secret arrangements. I was over the moon.
Do let us know what happens. You are my first laugh of the day I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Valentines present. It's probably a bit late for Valentine's day now but you could perhaps try for a birthday or wedding anniversary present? A friend of mine is actually 90 years old (still fit & very active) bought a rose name (that is, a rose bush that was named after his wife - possibly just her first name I can't remember) for their wedding anniversary. I won't see him for a few days but here are some examples I managed to google just now (costs are about £40 but some sites are really expensive and for a commercial market whereas your rose bush probably one of those that doesn't quite make it but still pretty):
Country Garden Roses patio rose bush - Rose Names and Name your own rose - Rose Names
Re: Valentines present.Hi as on a night shift no chance .
Make up for it tomorrow. Bob Let you know what happens. Re: Valentines present. The rose bushes are a good idea and very touching.
I was given a named one by Spencer's Lodge at the Carnegie Presentation. Best one I have had. After he had gone to work. I found a Red rose and a letter at the top of the stairs. It was a lovely letter and he asked me to Marry him again, which wasn't unusual as that happend about every few months lol. But this time he had arrange to renew our vows at our local Church on our 30th Wedding Anniversary that year. http://www.busheyk9.co.uk
If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning
Re: Valentines present.Hi , I got yesterday a pair of walking boots (dearly needed may I add ) and a afternoon visit to the cinema to see 1917 which was a very good film . No pop corn or drinks as weight watching for start of MTB XC racing soon.
I in return give her my company . Hard to get some one something that needs little . She still has plenty of choc from Xmas and garden is full of flowers and the front pond has more bits around it than enough . (Ducks pots squirrels and ants and assortment of bits from holidays around the world. So till next year or she decides something she likes . Bob Re: Valentines present.I am glad you enjoyed your film, Bob.
